Cultural Determinants of Health Webcast Series Delayed Until New Year

It’s with great sadness that we have made the decision to postpone our Cultural Determinants of Health series until the New Year. There are many reasons behind this decision and it’s not one we have taken lightly.

We are monitoring closely the progress of some of the initiatives we’ll be discussing and we hope to get started with the series in January. In the meantime, we thought we’d share with you some other workshops and webinars you may find useful.

  • Auspire is hosting a three-hour online workshop on Tuesday 15 September on Aboriginal Culture Understanding and Awareness. Tickets available here
  • RACGP Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health has developed the ‘I can see clearly now’ series.Webinar one introduces participants to new resources and explores cultural safety and what it means to general practice teams. Watch it here
  • The Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG) ran a webinar on Cultural Awareness and Cultural Safety – an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspective. Watch it here.

Don’t forget that you can also catch up on our Social Determinants of Health Webcast Series, a five-part series that demonstrated the relationship between the health and wellbeing of an individual and the environments in which they are born, grow, live, work and age. Factors such as early life, employment, housing, education and social support were explored. Filmed June 2019 – November 2019, you can watch the series here.
