CHESS Employment Transitions to CHESS Connect
Local employment agency CHESS Employment has unveiled a new look and name. What’s behind the change to CHESS Connect?
The history of CHESS Employment
Opening its doors as CHESS Employment in 1995 in Coffs Harbour, CHESS Employment’s goal was to deliver disability services to local people and businesses. Over the decades, CHESS services grew and evolved, expanding into new locations and delivering on NDIS, Youth Employment, Mental Health, ParentsNext (pre-employment) and a range of Workplace Rehabilitation and Wellness supports.
These services are a natural stem on from CHESS’s experience in the employment and disability sector. They connect to each other harmoniously and in a collaborative way.
CONNECTION is at the core of the CHESS organisation. CHESS connects to community, connects to business and most importantly, connects to people. This ability to connect positions CHESS Connect in the human services sector.
“Our rebrand reflects our strategy of service diversification, showing the evolution from a local disability employment agency to a regional human services provider that connects people to the supports they need,” said Paul Kelly, CEO.
“In a space that is becoming increasingly crowded and competitive this is how our organisation offers value to our customers, by providing a range of specialist services to individuals and businesses that all complement each other.”
The future of CHESS CONNECT
As CHESS Connect expands its service offerings and geographical footprint it continually explores innovative ways to remain flexible and responsive. The human services industry is transitioning from bulky funding to more ‘fee-for-service’ business models and innovation and integrated practice is the ticket to keeping up with change.
Since innovation and integrated practice is a complex, company-wide endeavor, it requires a set of crosscutting practices and processes to structure, organise, and encourage it. CHESS Connect:
• Aspires and regards innovation-led growth as critical
• Invests in coherent, time- and risk-based initiatives
• Discovers differentiated business, market and technology opportunities
• Evolves the business model
• Accelerates innovations quickly and effectively
• Creates and capitalises on external networks
• Is people-motivated and committed to North Coast communites
