The Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) works with clinicians, consumers and managers to design and promote better healthcare for NSW. ACI applies redesign methodology to review and improve the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare services.
ACI offers specialist advice on healthcare innovation and proudly supports the Centre to deliver its program. It advises on the development, evaluation and adoption of healthcare innovations from optimal use through to disinvestment.
ACI supports collaboration, learning and knowledge sharing.
Bulgarr Ngaru Medical Aboriginal Corporation (BMNAC) provides comprehensive and culturally appropriate primary healthcare services, including medical and dental, chronic disease management, mental health, and health education programs covering substance use, sexual health and lifestyle management.
BNMAC aims to improve the health and wellbeing of the communities it services. It has facilities in Grafton, Casino, Yamba and Maclean and is the leading provider of health services to the Bundjalung, Gumbaynggirr and Yaegl people.
Each year BNMAC provides more than 42,922 episodes of care to over 4469 clients through its medical, social and family support programs.
CHESS Connect is a for-purpose human service organisation that helps local people achieve a strong life through a range of employment, disability and mentorship services.
First established in 1995 as CHESS Employment, a disability employment agency in Coffs Harbour, CHESS Connect has evolved into a dynamic, regional human services organisation. Over the past 20 years CHESS Connect has expanded its footprint north to the Clarence Valley and recently, to the south in the Hastings Valley and Taree regions.
CHESS connects with community, with business and with people. Services include: disability employment, youth employment, professional recruitment support for local business, NDIS including plan management, ParentsNext – support for young parents preparing for employment, Partners in Recovery (PIR), mentally healthy workplace workshops, Personal Helpers and Mentors (PHaMs) and workplace rehabilitation.
Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD) has one of the fastest growing and ageing populations within NSW. It covers an area of 11,335 square kilometres extending from Port Macquarie in the south to Coffs Harbour in the north.
MNCLHD is a non-commercial government-funded health organisation that provides quality health care at public hospitals in Bellingen, Coffs Harbour, Dorrigo, Kempsey, Macksville, Port Macquarie and Wauchope. There are 10 Community Health Centres in the District which are located at Bellingen, Camden Haven, Coffs Harbour, Dorrigo, Kempsey, Macksville, Port Macquarie, South West Rocks, Wauchope and Woolgoolga.
North Coast Allied Health Association (NCAHA) represents an estimated 2,500 allied health professionals working across more than 39 fields of practice on the North Coast.
NCAHA provides education and training and support for its members with the aim of advancing the North Coast health system to one where service delivery is integrated, complementary and mutually supportive.
NCAHA aims to:
- Advocate for, and provide representation on behalf of, the allied health sector on local, regional and state matters of interest
- Provide a single point of contact with allied health clinicians, and give a single regional voice to the sector
- Facilitate multidisciplinary networking

North Coast Primary Health Network (NCPHN) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation committed to improving the health of our North Coast communities through quality primary health care.
Part of the national PHN program, NCPHN works alongside our local communities, primary health care professionals, hospitals and social services.
North Coast Primary Health Network:
- Identifies health needs in our region
- Sources and funds local services to address health care gaps
- Develops and delivers innovative local healthcare programs
- Informs communities about healthcare resources and education around self-care
- Builds primary healthcare workforce skills and capability
Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD) encompasses fourteen hospitals and a variety of community health centres from Tweed Heads to Grafton. NNSWLHD is committed to building a sustainable future health workforce to meet the needs of the North Coast community.
Northern NSW is home to a high number of state-of-the-art facilities and innovation is of high priority. NNSWLHD is undertaking major capital projects at serveral facilities, which will support staff and clinicians in providing excellent care to the District’s communities well into the future. Continued developments in Information Communication Technologies and Integrated Care have also related in improved patient outcomes and hospital services.
Social Futures is a non-for-profit committed to improving the lives of the people living in North Coast communities. It works with individuals, families, community and government organisations in the priority areas of homelessness and housing, youth and family services and disability services.
A regional leader, Social Futures strengthens and builds the capacity of the community sector by providing training, development, sector support and advocacy. Social Futures is responsive to the changing needs of the North Coast and works to achieve social justice in the region.
Programs and service areas include: Community and sector development, Disability and inclusion, Families and children, Health and wellbeing, Homelessness, Youth and community
The Southern Cross University Health Clinic is a purpose-built health and teaching facility providing patient-centred services for students, staff and the general public. The Clinic supports Allied Health Students with education, research and clinical practice for the general public and university staff and students.
The Clinic offers services in: bulk-billed general practice, nurse led clinics, dietetics, exercise physiology, mental health services, massage – remedial and sports, osteopathy, physiotherapy, podiatry, psychology, speech pathology, and ensures that Southern Cross University’s health graduates learn how to apply their discipline knowledge, professionalism and empathy in a supervised clinical setting.
The Clinic offers discounted services in osteopathy, podiatry, speech pathology and exercise physiology provided by students who are overseen by registered practitioners.
The University Centre for Rural Health (UCRH) is a multidisciplinary centre of excellence that educates students for clinical practice in rural health. A joint venture between the University of Sydney, Western Sydney University, the University of Wollongong and Southern Cross University, it conducts research relevant to the needs of rural communities situated within the Northern Rivers region of NSW and elsewhere.
UCRH delivers a high-quality, distinctive and supportive interdisciplinary health education program. It exposes students to diverse learning opportunities in rural communities and places up to 1000 students each year. Many UCRH students return to work in rural areas.
UCRH has campuses at Grafton, Lismore and Murwillumbah.

The International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC) Australia was founded in 2015 as a collaborative between IFIC and the Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health (CRRMH) at the University of Newcastle, NSW. Its core mission is to develop capacity and capabilities in Australia and the Asia Pacific region in the design and delivery of integrated care.
IFIC Australia seeks to achieve this by providing a platform to develop and exchange ideas and promote activities in keeping with IFIC’s mission.
IFIC is a not-for-profit network that brings people together to advance the science, knowledge, and adoption of integrated care policy and practice.
